Family Story
In Tel Aviv of early 1970s, Naomi finds some diaries written by her grandmother. As she reads through them, a family story she had never been told unfolds before her. Driven by an obsessive need to discover the truth, Naomi reveals a family flaw that has been passed down from her grandmother, aunt and mother, and which, as a genetic fact, threatens her too. The story begins in Heidelberg in 1935 and ends in Tel Aviv of the 1970s, and as it is related, the story of three generations of the family is unfolded against the backdrop of the period's historic events.
Games In The Backyard
''Totul începe cu un joc. Participanţii: patru puşti de 17 ani şi o fată de 14 ani. Piesa este inspirată de un caz real, prezintă faptele din două perspective pe care spectatorii le urmăresc alternativ: cea a evenimentului în sine şi cea a procesului în care cei patru băieţi sunt judecaţi pentru viol. O poveste emoţionantă despre dreptate, ineficienţă sistemului judiciar, adolescenţă, joacă, teribilism şi dragoste.'' - Bobi Pricop
Herod
Based on the historical king, the regent of Judea, it is a biography about politics and love, but in a contemporary idiom with ahistorical costuming. Herod was an outsider, the son of a convert who built his coalition government by marrying into the ruling political family and courting Rome. As the most controversial figure in Jewish history, a man who was hated by his people even while he created decades of stability, he is instructive for Israel today.
Love Burns
The story is narrated by Ilan Ben Nathan, a professor at the Technion who is in his late forties. He is married to the beautiful Naomi, who isn't much more than half his age, but love doesn't quite conquer all and his life is sputtering along at the moment: he can't seem to get around to finishing editing some conference proceedings there's this student who is looking for more attention than he wants to give her, and he does like popping those Valiums. He only has one real friend, Anton, but Anton works in the Criminal Investigations Department .....
The Rebels
Rebellion as a family trait. The play depicts three generations of rebels in one Israeli family: the son, his mother and his grandmother. Each rebels in his own way in the period in which they live -- the Lehi underground movement of the forties, a radical left movement in the sixties, through an existential and apolitical youthful rebellion in the nineties. In this play, too, the playwright seeks to examine Israeli secular identity through a family story.
The Uncle from Capetown
Was it a Dream
The play traces the tempestuous love story between actress Hannah Rovina, the first lady of Hebrew theatre, and poet Alexander Penn in the young and vibrant Tel Aviv of the 1930s, which even then was "a city that never sleeps". In the background a literary war rages between the national poet Haim Nahman Bialik and the pretender to the throne, Avraham Shlonsky. Wien by the Sea
In an elegant pension on the coast of the Adriatic, in the south of Italy, there gathers for the seventh year running, a group of high-class Viennese Jews for their regular annual vacation. The group includes Ilsa Von Sternheim, an old senile lady, who still mourns the death of the Emperor Franz Josef. Ilsa is the mother of Hermina Sternheim, another guest at the pension, director of a department of a Jewish hospital in Vienna, a sober-minded, strong spinster, cynical and practical. In her train is her hypochondriac brother, Stefan Harshar, who thinks each day that he is about to die. Irvine Kempinski is a well-off paper exporter, a gossip with artistic ambitions, who is loved by everyone. The group also includes Mr and Mrs Bauer. Martin is a frustrated author. His beautiful wife Sarah, radiates much personal charm. She was formerly a promising opera singer, whose marriage ended her career. For five years, since she first heard the word "Nazi" she has been neurotic, and has apocalyptic dreams of the end of the world. Noticeable by his absence is David Schlesinger. The plot takes place on the evening of 11th March 1938. The Anschluss is about to take place, but Vienna is indifferent and the members of the group deny reality. They have come to rest and during the time of rest, politics are forbidden, as is the reading of newspapers. This will be their final meeting, but they are unaware of it.
