Galben (Amarillo)
A Blind Man is led into a house by a Boy. The Boy gives the Blind Man objects which he inspects in his hand, recognising them only by their feel. The Boy tells the Blind Man the colour of every object he touches. One object, however, troubles the Blind Man. He holds it in his hand, but cannot work out what it is. The Boy tells him that the object is yellow. But the Blind Man doubts that this is the case. He tells the Boy that the woman of the house – who we assume was his mother – always hated yellow. For her, yellow was responsible for all that went wrong in her life. The Blind Man remembers how this woman blamed the colour yellow on his father losing his job. He remembers how she blamed the colour yellow on his father packing his bags and leaving for good. The Blind Man asks the Boy several times to reconsider what colour the object is. The Boy answers ‘yellow’ each time, receiving successively violent blows for doing so. Gradually, the Blind Man starts to believe that he himself might be the reason why yellow is unexpectedly present in the house. He was the last to abandon the woman. Now, he wonders if that was the final straw for her. Did she close the door and surround herself in yellow, the colour of her bad luck? In the end, the Boy changes his mind. Perhaps he is scared of the Blind Man, perhaps he feels sorry for him. In any case, the Boy relents, and tells the Blind Man that the object is not yellow, but red.

Blackmail. It’s such a dirty word. All Short Man wants is a friend. Someone to go for a drink with, someone who’s always there to listen. All Tall Man wants is his identity as an illegal immigrant kept secret, and so he agrees to become Short Man’s friend. But Tall Man is about to find out just what a high price he has paid to buy his blackmailer’s silence. Short Man and Short Woman live in the apartment above Tall Man and Tall Woman. The men initially do not know each other, until Short Man bumps into his neighbour in a local café. Before this, they had never exchanged more than a few words, passing only on the stairs as Tall Man left for his night job and Short Man returned from his day job.

Pornind de la această compunere surprinzătoare, între adult şi tânăr se creează o legătură deopotrivă profundă şi primejdioasă. Profesorul-maestru îl susţine şi îi cizelează talentul, devenindu-i complice.

A number of characters have a mysterious meeting in Salamanca, which they are found, as if now you write something on the Gran Via and there appears Whip, Hemingway, Philip II, ana or Franco. Furthermore, it is a compromise text and negotiation, like many of my other short pieces. It is a celebration of Salamanca text, but I know that some people feel bad that remembered the episode of Millan Astray, precisely, is an extraordinary moment that honors Salamanca, although some consider it shameful. Himmelweg (Camino del cielo)
In 1944 Maurice Rossel, a Swiss Representative of the Red Cross visited the Theresienstadt concentration camp in Czechoslovakia. Before his visit this camp had been converted into a model village. Any indication that the Jews were unwilling prisoners living in terrible conditions was disguised. This pretence of ordinary life fooled Rossel who wrote a favourable report about his inspection. In the first act of Himmelweg – a play divided into five acts – a Red Cross Representative delivers a monologue describing a similar act of deception that took place when he visited a concentration camp in 1942. Contrary to expectations, the Representative was not greeted by monstrous guards or emaciated Jewish prisoners. Instead, a cultured and affable Nazi Commandant gave him leave to inspect what appeared to be an unremarkable Jewish town complete with a theatre and a synagogue. Accompanied by the Commandant and the Jewish ‘mayor’ of this town, Gershom Gottfried, the Representative toured the camp. He saw scenes of everyday life: an arguing couple; children playing. Yet despite the unexceptionality of the things he saw, the Representative became increasingly uneasy. He recalls that the entire experience felt unreal and stilted: the Jews seemed awkward; the Commandant overly welcoming.

I write something about a story that had happened one day. I found a rather strange: a woman had to give notice that was forty years without seeing his brothers so that should give by deceased and to dispose of the estate. I thought it was a story tremendous, apparently in Galicia has given much to migrants. So I chose this story over other more cyclical and Franco had opened a dam or Spain had been seventh at Eurovision. I think that really is one of the works that could perhaps be one development, as suddenly we saw these three brothers in 1933. - Juan Mayorga
La mala imagen
Edi and Lola are in a band together. Their financial backers want to have more of a creative say in their image. Lola tries to negotiate between those holding the purse strings and an increasingly resentful Edi, who feels he is being slowly edged out of the group. Edi has written a song about the Bogeyman. He wants to use a photograph he took of a Bogeyman in a park, waiting to take children away in a large sack. But the band’s backers have replaced Edi’s amateur photograph with a professional one. The Bogeyman figure is still there, but he is now played by a model. The Model muses aloud about how strange it is to dress up in different outfits to create false images for the camera. Over the course of time, the Model’s clothes change until he is turned into Edi’s Bogeyman. In the end, just as Lola insists once again that Edi’s song is un-singable, the Model/Bogeyman starts to sing. We do not know, however, whether anyone other than Edi can hear the music.

This piece comes from an order that makes the Spanish Theatre to me to a tribute to Mihura. We had to do something related to three hats and I thought of the girl who does not go out. Dionisio is supposed to be on the dancer at night. The girl who does not go out, his fiancée, is a Panfila that in a way, also has his desire to live a different life. Read many things in life Mihura as passed for a fascist, is that was a gentleman, but, on the other hand, his humor and his vision tender was what I wanted to explode. There are phrases that are more or less paraphrased, but what I wanted was to see the conflict from the other side. – Juan Mayorga

At first I wrote about a character who was a star of radio, but had the ability to develop, through the voice, the woman of your dreams. In 1835 Charles Darwin made his famous voyage to the Galapagos Islands. He brought back a tortoise, Harriet. Harriet lived for nearly 200 years, through some of the major atrocities of the twentieth century. In Darwin’s Tortoise Harriet has a starring role as a witness to history with plenty to say about how humanity has failed itself. She is the past come to warn the future, but it is unlikely that anyone will listen.

A text on freedom of expression. Very easy, I thought, you get one thing very clearly that you manifest in an act of repression. But the important thing is that you wonder how far your limits. Personally I love the world of maps, I have another work about it called The Cartographer. I thought, Maps would it unacceptable? A map of judges in Madrid, for example. Mujeres en la cornisa
On a ledge of an apartment building, three women come together to watch the sunrise. Two of them have been doing this regularly and, on the night of the play, a third woman joins them for the first time. She has been promising to do this for a while, but marital problems always seem to get in the way. Now, she sees for herself the impressive view they have from the high ledge. The three women comment on the nocturnal comings and goings down below. Their vantage point on the ledge helps them put their own problems into perspective. Gradually, as the light comes up, they marvel at the sunrise and the sights and sounds of morning. At dawn, the three women go their separate ways, returning to the highs and lows of their own lives.

De-a lungul probelor succesive la care sunt supuşi, îşi face loc una dintre cele mai acute dileme etice ale vieţii politice şi sociale de astăzi. După texte precum "Ultimas palabras de Copito de Nieve" şi "La tortuga de Darwin", Juan Mayorga apelează din nou la o metaforă cutremurătoare din regnul animal.
